Matt 5:16 : Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your GOOD WORKS, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Welcome to season when our lives must show forth good works in all areas, that men may glorify our heavenly Father, it’s a time to be consciously involved in the master’s call, with our home, business, finances etc. Jesus said "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work" John 9:4. in response to a challenging question - " And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?" The situation of the man demanded for an explanation and Jesus said "it is for the glory of God to be made manifest". Jesus sees the challenging situation as an occasion for God to be glorified. Mark 5:2-20 the mad man of Gadarene, Mark 3:1-5 the man with withered hand, John 2:7-8 the marriage at Cana of Galilee; all were occasion for Him to do good works & for His father glory. Jesus: often times turned adversity to advantage to glorify God.
Jesus knew that all that He went through and things that happened in his life & ministry were all allowed by God; his birth in a manger, raised by a carpenter parent, selection of Judas amongst the disciples, betrayals and denials, crucifixion and death were all for the purpose of his ultimate Glorious Resurrection. So he declared: "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world".
We 'must' wake up to the urgency of the task that the master have called us unto, Moses was raised for the deliverance of Israel from Egypt, Samson - to deliver them from Medianite, Esther was raised for 'a time like this', Gideon was raised to put an end to the worship of Baal, Paul a preacher to the Gentiles & to bring them to the saving power of God by grace, and Jesus - Savior of the world. The scripture is filled with records of men and women, who went through thick and thin, and yet they stood for God and showed forth the Good works of the master, Heb 11:32-35. Now it is our turn to be valiant in faith and do the works of him that sent us.
Whatever the situation in and around our lives, they are preparation for special task (the Good Works) that God have appointed for us. The wealth or lack, strength or weakness, height or depth, happiness or sorrows, privileges of deprivation. Take a look at the lives of Abraham, Moses, Hannah, Esther, Gideon, Jephthah, Solomon, David, the Disciples, Paul and Jesus our perfect example. They all went through tough times, the tough situation does not stop God's work in their lives, once their heart was right with God, they went on triumphantly. A heart that is fixed on God will go through every situation, and see God working in every situation for his/her good. It is at this point that we are made fit for the Good works. 2Corn4:17, Rom 8:37-39, Eph 2:10
The Lord has taken us thus far furnishing us with his grace for good works, it is time to drop all excuses, procrastination and delay, to arise and work the works of him that sent us, at home, at offices, society, it is a MUST, that the course of Christ must go on.
The situation in our churches are beckoning for answers from us, we must obtain grace and consciously commit ourselves to doing the work of the master in 2014. Enough of doing our own works at the expense of God's work, we must connect to God through fasting, prayers, bible study and evangelism. TACEF- the church is waiting, we cannot and must not disappoint God. The church is waiting we must get the right word and speak it in all holiness and fear of God. Bring forth the good works of God as contained in his Words.
If we arise to the master's work, he will back us up and manifest His glory through us and in us, it is time to arise at once, 2Kings 7:9, the day is counting and the night is approaching, John 9:4c if your works is brought to the light, will they be good works, will your work glorify God or put you to shame? 1Corn 3:13. Put away all works of the flesh and turn to God, for without God all your efforts and works will end in damnation. For it is God that works in us both to will and to do of His pleasure. If we work His works, He will work our works - Matt 6:33
As we set for 2014, will you be available for the work of him that sent us - Raising an Army with a Vision of Revival.
2013 JANUARY LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP: ABIDING IN GODLY PATTERNS
As we transit into the next phase of our journey with God, the Lord is calling our hearts to the foundational truths that shaped our evolution as a fellowship. The Lord was emphatic in 2 Pet 1 vs 19 and Heb 2 vs 1-4 on the need to preserve, treasure and sustain these patterns as sure memorials before Him.
We must always remind ourselves that the specific instruction, as received from the beginning of this fellowship, are timeless, pure, sure, eternal and are never subject to the changing times or shifting standards of our varying seasons. They are rooted in God’s nature and His unchanging personality.
(James 1 vs 17 ISV –“in whom there is no inconsistency or shifting shadow”)
Our role therefore, as partners on the journey with God is to consistently keep to God’s set standard or Master plan as true and worthy co-labourers with Him. Our work is only valid to the degree to which it aligns with God’s fullest details and intent. It is not what we think or imagine but what He alone has mandated and instructed.
We will pray for you and your family. Just ask!
